How can I deal with my mother - does she have mental problems?

Yes, of course she has mental problems. They are so ingrained that I don't believe there is any hope. She may have just been born like this. Just try to get help for yourself so it doesn't drag you down. There must be a place for relatives of mentally ill people to go to. I am sure I have heard of one. But I can't remember what it is called. It must be called different names according to what country you are in. They will give you advice. My mother was exactly the same, and she never got better. She died of Alzheimers. I think a lot of her problems were that she had signs of Alzheimers really early in life. The number of times I listened to her on the phone telling me how many lottery tickets she got and how she was only 5,138 numbers away from the third prize.....it drove me CRAZY/.
